Donna Platt, LCPC, MA, is the owner and clinical director of Platt Professional Counseling in Frankfort IL. She received her master’s degree in counseling psychology from St. Xavier University, while working full-time in middle management with AT&T. When the company downsized and eliminated her position in 2011, she finally was able to start her “dream job” as a clinician in mental health. In the beginning of her new career, she worked in several clinical facilities, including as an inpatient therapist with Linden Oaks in Naperville, an outpatient therapist at Christ Hospital, as well as a clinical therapist at Timberline Knolls in Lemont. Eventually Donna entered private practice, and in 2016, Platt Professional Counseling was founded. What began as a “one woman shop” in a single rented room, Platt PC has now grown into a thriving practice in the southwest suburbs, employing a large staff of counselors, social workers, and a life coach.

Donna has a love for and genuine desire to help people through their toughest times. She enjoys working with a diverse population of people, including couples in crisis, individuals dealing with life transitions, and those struggling with addiction and codependency.

Donna specializes in couples therapy and has completed all levels of training in Gottman Method. She assists couples with conflict management, affair recovery and intimacy.

She uses several evidence-based treatment methods, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy and faith-based counseling.

Donna has received additional training and certification in addictions. She is passionate in her efforts to support clients and their families in recovery from alcohol and substance addiction, as well as codependency.
